\nVALPARAISO MAN WOUNDED DURING SHOOTOUT WITH POLICE<\/strong><\/p>\n

PORTER COUNTY, Ind. \u2014 A Valparaiso man was flown to a Chicago hospital after being wounded Wednesday during a shootout with police.<\/p>\n

Porter County Police arrived at the home of 58-year-old James Filby at around 2 p.m. with a warrant for his arrest. The warrant for Filby included charges of child molesting, vicarious sexual gratification, attempted sexual battery, and sexual battery.<\/p>\n

Filby met the officers outside his home and pulled out a gun.<\/p>\n

Shots were fired by both Filby and an officer, according to Indiana State Police.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Dog \u2018Rocky\u2019 injured while chasing mountain lion away from California family: \u2018Absolutely a fighter\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n

LA VERNE, Calif. (KTLA) \u2013 A dog named Rocky is recovering Wednesday after fearlessly chasing a mountain lion out of his owners\u2019 Southern California backyard last week.<\/p>\n

Just before 8 p.m. Friday, Mary Padres was in her yard when she spotted a mountain lion staring back at her.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was literally right here looking at me and I got freaked out and started screaming,\u201d Padres said. \u201cIt was humongous. It was huge. It was very, very scary.\u201d<\/p>\n

Security video captured the moment she started shouting and her family came out to see what was going on.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s when one of the family\u2019s two dogs, a 7-year-old pit bull mix rescue, leaped into action, charging at the big cat and chasing it off the La Verne property.<\/p>\n

Padres\u2019 teenage daughters, Verena and Ashley, said they began to panic and were terrified because they didn\u2019t know what was going to happen.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were very terrified that he wouldn\u2019t come back,\u201d Padres said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
