{"id":118715,"date":"2021-10-21T14:00:34","date_gmt":"2021-10-21T18:00:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/valorguardians.com\/blog\/?p=118715"},"modified":"2021-10-21T13:16:47","modified_gmt":"2021-10-21T17:16:47","slug":"thursdays-are-for-cooking-146","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/?p=118715","title":{"rendered":"Thursdays Are For Cooking"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-81474\" src=\"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/Onions2011copy-300x173.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"173\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/Onions2011copy-300x173.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/Onions2011copy-768x443.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/Onions2011copy-500x289.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Beef Noodle Soup<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Well, it\u2019s chilly weather again in my kingdom, and I happen to like soup that is hearty and filling and goes well with cornbread and cut-up veggies, so here goes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Beef broth \u2013 I used a stock pot for this, so 2 two quart boxes of beef broth were just enough; add more if needed<\/p>\n<p>Olive oil to brown the beef<\/p>\n<p>Noodles \u2013 I used angel hair pasta; do <em>not<\/em> overdo the pasta part**<\/p>\n<p>Baby carrots cut in half, or just use cut frozen carrots to save time; about a quarter pound or more<\/p>\n<p>Celery \u2013 2 to 4 stalks, including the leaves<\/p>\n<p>Chopped onion \u2013 if you use green onions include the tails; use a bunch of\u00a0 chopped onion<\/p>\n<p>Canned mushrooms &#8211; I used two cans; pour off the canning fluid before adding theses to the pot.<\/p>\n<p>Chunky cut stewing beef \u2013 leftover roast beef is also okay.<\/p>\n<p>Soy sauce (instead of salt) for seasoning \u2013 get a good quality soy made by a Japanese company<\/p>\n<p>**You can substitute baby potatoes or cut up red potatoes for the pasta, if you prefer that.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Directions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8211;\u00a0 Brown the beef in olive oil first<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;\u00a0 Add baby carrots, celery, chopped onion and beef broth to the pot; 4 quarts should be sufficient to cover everything; add more if needed to cover the ingredients<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Add a small amount of soy sauce to season the broth (do <em>not<\/em> overdo the soy sauce!); I used 3 tablespoons in a 5 quart stock pot<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Add a handful of short pasta or noodles \u2013 your choice \u2013 and let them slowly cook into the broth<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Set the burner on LOW or MEDIUM to simmer the veggies and beef chunks into oblivion; do NOT boil the soup!!!!<\/p>\n<p>The goal is to simmer the soup, not boil it, so that the beef chunks will be extremely tender and easy to break up in your soup bowl.<\/p>\n<p>Serve with cheese and crackers or fresh cornbread, and take your time enjoying it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Beef Noodle Soup Well, it\u2019s chilly weather again in my kingdom, and I happen to like &hellip; <a title=\"Thursdays Are For Cooking\" class=\"hm-read-more\" href=\"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/?p=118715\"><span class=\"screen-reader-text\">Thursdays Are For Cooking<\/span>Read more<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":653,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[485,11],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-118715","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-cooking","category-economy"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/118715","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/653"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=118715"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/118715\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=118715"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=118715"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=118715"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
