Man fatally shot by Chicago police officer in Englewood Sunday identified<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nA man who was allegedly armed with a knife was fatally shot by a Chicago police officer Sunday morning, authorities said.<\/p>\n

Chicago police were called to the 6500 block of South Harvard Avenue in Englewood just before 11 a.m. for a report of a \u201cdomestic disturbance,\u201d according to a statement from police. There they came across the man and an officer drew his weapon and fatally shot \u201ca 28-year-old male who was later pronounced deceased,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n

Police shoot, kill man in Lawrence County stabbing incident<\/strong><\/p>\n

Police shot and killed a man who had been suspected of stabbing three people in Lawrence County Saturday, according to state police.<\/p>\n

The incident happened shortly before 9 p.m. at the Mahoning Sportsmen’s Association on West Main Street in Mahoning Township.<\/p>\n

State police said officers from several local departments responded. They encountered the suspect, identified as Christopher E. Rush, 34, of New Castle.<\/p>\n

The victims were two men, ages 61 and 37, from Ohio and a 15-year-old boy.<\/p>\n

State police said Rush was armed with “a cutting instrument,” but did not say what it was. They said he assaulted and hurt a local police officer with it; state police did not say what department the injured officer works for.<\/p>\n

State police said that during the assault, another local police officer fired his service weapon, hitting Rush. The officer and his department were also not identified.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

69-year-old kills woman fighting 72-year-old homeowner during break-in, Ohio police say<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nA 21-year-old woman who police say broke into a home late Sunday night was shot and killed by a 69-year-old homeowner.<\/p>\n

The incident occurred in North Olmsted, a northern Ohio town about 20 miles southwest of Cleveland. Police say the woman broke into the home a little before 11 p.m.<\/p>\n

After entering the home, the woman fought with a 72-year-old resident, according to police. The 69-year-old woman who also lives at the residence then fired at alleged intruder, striking her in the abdomen, WOIO reported.<\/p>\n

The woman, identified by the TV station as Keyarra Tompkins, died at Fairview General Hospital in Cleveland after suffering the single gunshot wound, police said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
