SAN ANTONIO \u2013 A homeowner in far West Bexar County is getting at least some of the credit for helping to stop two men who are accused of shooting at sheriff\u2019s deputies.<\/p>\n

Anthony Cardenas fought with one of the two suspects who broke in and ran through his home in the Amber Creek subdivision, located near Highway 90 and Loop 1604, early Thursday morning<\/p>\n

Unbeknownst to him, those men were armed and on the run after allegedly breaking into cars in the area and firing shots at two Bexar County sheriff\u2019s deputies.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\nAn armed robber was shot in the face in Texas when his victim pulled out his own gun and shot at him, just days after a Texas law went into effect allowing residents to carry handguns without permits.<\/p>\n

“He was shot in the face one time. He\u2019s at the hospital. He\u2019s going to live. He\u2019s conscious and breathing right now,” Houston Police Department Lieutenant R. Willkens said.<\/p>\n

The incident unfolded Wednesday evening in Houston when the victim was walking to a local Shell gas station to make a few purchases, SBG San Antonio reported.<\/p>\n

The suspect in the case was dropped off by a driver around the same time, and approached the victim by lifting his shirt to expose a gun and demanded he fork over any valuables.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
