Woman fends off home intruder<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nELKHART, Indiana (WBND) \u2014 The incident took place just a few days ago, in the middle of the night, when the burglar caught the homeowner off-guard.<\/p>\n

Carla Stanfill is recalling where she was when the unthinkable happened on early morning hours of August 28th.<\/p>\n

Around 2:30 a.m. Stanfill tells me she was letting her dog outside to use the bathroom, but little did she know, someone was out there.<\/p>\n

\u201cI closed the door and then there was a handprint on my window and I thought it was my husband because he wasn\u2019t home at the time. And so when I went to go to the door to open it, a man barged in and grabbed me by my face and slammed me against the wall,\u201d said the victim Carla Stanfill.<\/p>\n

She says it happened fast.<\/p>\n

It started with the burglar pushing her down in the hallway.<\/p>\n

Then she says he pinned her to the ground near the washer and dyer and that\u2019s when Carla feared the worst.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe laid his whole body on top of me and he started, that\u2019s when he started talking to me telling me he was hungry and he just wanted some food so I started to relax,\u201d said Carla.<\/p>\n

Although relaxed, Carla saw it as a moment to turn the tables and regain control.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s when she reached for one of her husbands guns to protect herself.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just turned around and put the gun in his face and told him I would kill him. I wanted him out of my house,\u201d said Carla.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Police kill alleged carjacker outside Milwaukee area Walmart<\/strong><\/p>\n

FRANKLIN, Wis. (AP) \u2014 Police shot and killed a man outside a Walmart Friday in suburban Wisconsin after he allegedly carjacked two vehicles and kidnapped one of the drivers.<\/p>\n

Milwaukee County Sheriff Earnell Lucas told reporters during a news conference that investigators are still trying to put together exactly what happened. He said it appears the suspect carjacked a vehicle sometime before 8 a.m. He forced the driver to take him to a Walmart in Milwaukee, where they may have \u201cobtained items,\u201d the sheriff said.<\/p>\n

They then went to a service station. The driver went inside and told the attendant to call the police. The carjacker and the driver then left and went to a Walmart in Franklin. The driver somehow managed to tell a clerk to call the police, the sheriff said.<\/p>\n

Officers received a call of an active shooter at the Walmart, Lucas said. Officers from multiple agencies swarmed the scene. The suspect fled in the vehicle but crashed it as police gave chase.<\/p>\n

The suspect immediately hijacked another vehicle and but crashed that one as well. He jumped out of the wreckage with a gun and officers opened fire, killing him, the sheriff said. Franklin Police Chief Rick Oliva said during the news conference that there were \u201cindications\u201d the suspect pointed his weapon at officers.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

2 Valencia County deputies injured in shooting in Los Lunas, suspect dead<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nLOS LUNAS, N.M. \u2014 A police officer has been shot and another officer injured in Los Lunas Friday afternoon.<\/p>\n

According to Valencia County District Attorney Barb Romo, one deputy was shot by a suspect and another officer was hit with shrapnel after gunfire was exchanged on New Mexico Highway 6.<\/p>\n

New Mexico State Police followed two suspects to NM 314 and Davila Road where they later shot the driver of the vehicle.<\/p>\n

The driver died on the scene and the passenger of the car was taken into custody. Another passenger of the car fled the scene on foot.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
