It looks like Biden pulled out a day early. It’s very early in the morning on 31 August in Afghanistan and the last of the US military aircraft is wheels up. The US military is no longer in Afghanistan. This does explain why they were turning away civilians the last day or so, as we discussed earlier<\/a>. Ain’t no more room. Forget if you want to come home, you should have made it here sooner, pal.<\/p>\n

The Pentagon announced Monday that all U.S. troops have departed Afghanistan.<\/p>\n

The removal of U.S. troops meets the Aug. 31 deadline the Biden administration agreed to with the Taliban, officially drawing the country’s longest-ever conflict to an end.<\/p>\n

But the fate of those left behind remains a mystery, with White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki confirming earlier Monday that a “small number” of Americans who want to leave remain in the country.<\/p>\n

Psaki could not give an estimate on exactly how many Americans remained in the country, though a senior State Department official put the number at “below 250.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

No man left behind. Except for a couple hundred.<\/p>\n

Axios is reporting<\/a> that CENTCOM commander General McKenzie is saying;<\/p>\n

He said the “vast majority” of Americans who hoped to flee were evacuated.<\/p>\n

He said the last flight left at 3:29 pm ET on Monday. The evacuation of U.S. civilians ended about 12 hours earlier, he said.<\/p>\n

“We continued the outreach and would have been prepared to bring them on until the very last minute but none of them made it to the airport and were able to be accommodated.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The vast majority. That will be great comfort to those left behind and their loved ones who now await to hear how many times they get raped before they get beheaded. He also seems to be making it a point (again) that to get evacuated one would have to get themselves to the airport, through the hordes of trigger-happy Taliban armed with American weaponry.<\/p>\n

At least the Taliban are happy. Axios says;<\/p>\n
