Suspect killed in officer-involved shooting in Nampa; is at least 8th fatal police shooting this year in Idaho<\/strong><\/p>\n

NAMPA \u2014 A man is dead after reportedly brandishing a gun at Nampa Police officers Thursday night.<\/p>\n

The Nampa Police Department received an emergency call at 11:56 p.m. Thursday about a man with a gun in the area of Lincoln Avenue and Elder Street, a police news release said. The caller reported that the suspect was walking in the street and that when the caller drove in the area the suspect took out a gun. The suspect reportedly chased after the reporting party with the gun in his hand as they drove away.<\/p>\n

Responding officers located the suspect about three blocks east in the area of Sherman Avenue and Banner Street, the release said. As officers approached the suspect he reportedly pulled out a gun and officers fired shots striking the suspect. The suspect died at the scene.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) \u2014 A suspect is dead and an officer is in the hospital after an officer-involved shooting in the parking lot of the Greensboro Police Department headquarters on Friday afternoon, according to Greensboro Police Chief Brian James.<\/p>\n

At 3:08 p.m., a suspect came into the parking lot, set fire to a police vehicle and assaulted an officer, James said.<\/p>\n

Three officers responded and fired their weapons. The suspect was shot and pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Man who forced his way into Newport Beach home is shot, killed by occupant, police say<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nAn occupant of a Newport Beach home shot and killed a man on Thursday morning, Aug. 26, after the man forced his way into the residence, police said.<\/p>\n

Officers responded to a call in the area of Redlands Drive and Indus Street in Newport Heights shortly after 4 a.m. about a man who seemed to be having a mental health crisis or was under the influence of drugs or alcohol. He \u201cforcibly\u201d entered the home and was shot by someone inside, authorities said in a news release.<\/p>\n

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, said Heather Rangel, a spokeswoman for the Newport Beach Police Department. She said there is no ongoing threat to the neighborhood.<\/p>\n

The identity of the dead man and other details surrounding the case were not released as of Thursday afternoon.<\/p>\n

Amy Lee and Daniel Gomez live behind the house where the shooting happened. They were awakened around 3:40 a.m. to a male voice yelling.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
