A Virginia Elementary school posted a video to its website but turned around and removed it. In the video, you could hear the narrator talk about what makes her safe. One of those things that “made her safe” was the absence of police.<\/p>\n

We all deserve to feel safe.
\nWe deserve to feel safe in our homes.
\nWe deserve to feel safe in our bodies.
\nWe deserve to feel safe in our schools.
\nWe deserve to feel safe outside.
\nWe deserve to feel safe everywhere.<\/p>\n

I feel safe when I am with my dogs.
\nI feel safe when I’m with my partner.
\nI feel safe when I’m with my friends.
\nI feel safe when people listen to my feelings.
\nI feel safe when there are no police…<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

… And it’s no one’s job to tell me how I feel but it’s everyone’s job to make sure that people who are being treated unfairly feel safe too.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
