It appears that the new variant Delta form of the coronavirus, which originated in India, is now affecting China. More than 300 new cases have been spotted in the last 10 days.<\/p>\n

After they left the plane, staff from the Nanjing Lukou airport swooped in to pick up their rubbish.<\/p>\n According to Chinese officials, when those cleaners exited the aircraft they brought the virus along with them to the outside world – sparking what has now become China’s widest outbreak since Wuhan.<\/p>\n One of the biggest challenges for authorities, as Zhang appeared to hint at, is how to convince a risk averse Chinese public.<\/p>\n “There was this massively traumatic experience they had, seeing what happened in Wuhan where their health systems were completely overwhelmed. If they reopen, they are afraid that the Chinese health system would not be able to handle [another surge], especially in rural areas,” said Prof Huang.<\/p>\n Prof Jin said the way state media depicted the virus had also fuelled this fear, with some outlets “presenting the Indian outbreak as if it was the end of days, and the situation in the UK and US was shown to be hellish.” \u2013 article \u2013 Read the entire thing!<\/p>\n What is the Delta variant, which seems to be moving right along now in China? It is only one of several variants, but it is new. It appears to have the same lethality as the Alpha through Gamma variants. https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/health-55659820<\/a><\/p>\n Check the chart at that link: the Alpha variant originated in the UK, not in China<\/em>.<\/p>\n Now, understand that viruses mutate and shift their antigens constantly, which is why you have to get a flu vaxx in the fall, before flu season starts \u2013 unless you WANT the misery of the flu inflicted upon your whoreson souls.<\/p>\n Most variants of viruses are harmless and frack off quickly, but some stick around, hence a new influenza shot being due next fall. Oh, yeah, that\u2019s only a few weeks away, so if you\u2019re going to get a booster for Covid, get the flu shot first.<\/p>\n The important thing about coronavirus is its spike proteins, which attach to human cells to start the whole sordid business of infecting the host. Those spike proteins seem to be more aggressive than the average virus, but that could be due to the disastrous effects of the disease itself.<\/p>\n I\u2019m curious to find out just what will go on in China, since their denial of reality is always disastrously stupid.
