Victim turns tables on burglary and kidnapping suspect after drawing his own firearm<\/strong>

PIERCE COUNTY, Wash. \u2014 A burglary in Pierce County turned into a kidnapping situation on Wednesday when a victim walked into a crime in progress.<\/p>\n

The incident started just after 10 a.m. in the 8700 block of 18th Avenue East in Midland.<\/p>\n

According to deputies, a homeowner received a Ring doorbell camera notification that someone was at his home, so he asked a friend to stop by and check in.<\/p>\n

Aiden Bullock drove over and said he saw someone coming out from a side door.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis dude just pops his head out, and I look at him, and I\u2019m like, \u2018Hey!\u2019 And all of a sudden, I see my buddy\u2019s AR-15 in his hands,\u201d Bullock said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe first thought in my mind was, \u2018Oh, s—. How do I keep this dude from shooting me?\u2019\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Bullock said the man took his phone out of his hands \u2014 all at gunpoint.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s sweating. He\u2019s nervous. He\u2019s twitching all over the place,\u201d Bullock said. \u201cI kind of feel bad for him but, at the same time, those twitchy fingers are pretty close to the trigger,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

I just tried to talk him down, and I was like, \u2018Hey, man. Everything is OK? Just tell me what\u2019s going on. How can I help you?\u2019\u201d Bullock said.<\/p>\n

Bullock convinced the suspect to take the stolen items \u2014 a duffel bag full of stuff and a safe \u2014 and leave.<\/p>\n

\u201cI really commend him for being as brave as he was. He was able to talk the suspect out of doing any harm to him,\u201d Moss said.<\/p>\n

But the suspect still had the gun \u2014 and that\u2019s when Bullock decided to follow him.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
