A new study says that Pakistani mistrust of vaccinations stems from the CIA’s fake vaccination program designed to smoke out Osama Bin Laden.<\/p>\n

Declining vaccination rates in\u00a0Pakistan\u00a0have been linked to operations undertaken by the Central Intelligence Agency in 2011 to try to locate\u00a0Osama bin Laden.<\/p>\n

A new study in the Journal of the European Economic Association, which is published by the Oxford University Press, argues that Pakistani distrust in vaccines can be tied directly to a\u00a0CIA-led ruse in 2011 that used a vaccine clinic as a cover for agents to try to gather information on bin Laden’s location.<\/p>\n

During the ruse, CIA agents worked with a local doctor to launch an immunization plan in Pakistan. Their intention was to steal DNA samples from children living in an Abbottabad compound they believed housed the man behind the 9\/11 terror attacks.<\/p>\n

The agents reasoned that the presence of close relatives of bin Laden in the compound would likely indicate he was there as well.<\/p>\n

The doctor used by the CIA began administering hepatitis B vaccines despite having no authorization from Pakistan’s health authorities to do so.<\/p>\n

Reporting by\u00a0The Guardian<\/em>\u00a0revealed the operation shortly after US special forces units killed bin Laden in 2011.<\/p>\n

After the operation was uncovered, the\u00a0Taliban\u00a0increased its propaganda efforts to undermine vaccines.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

One could argue that Bin Laden got vaccinated to flush all the desire to commit terrorism out of him.\u00a0 Now he’s filling a useful role of feeding the fishes.<\/p>\n

But, as to the Pakistani’s – I can see them not being eager to get in a line for vaccinations.\u00a0 I wonder if the CIA has to run their plans through the lawyers?\u00a0 They probably didn’t see this one coming.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
