The\u00a0Army\u00a0has authorized female\u00a0soldiers\u00a0to wear ponytails while in\u00a0uniform,\u00a0marking a significant departure from a long-held policy that’s drawing\u00a0both support and criticism.<\/p>\n

The branch approved the move back in February,\u00a0initially only allowing ponytails to be worn\u00a0while conducting field or fitness training.<\/p>\n

The change was made due to concerns over certain health conditions, including alopecia — a type of hair loss — and to stop hair damage caused by a tight bun.<\/p>\n
