According to estimates from the National Shooting Sports Foundation, more than seven million Americans have become first-time gun buyers in 2020, and the trend has continued. Many new owners don’t fit the conservative stereotype. This is healthy, and will tend to put a damper on some of the more egregious civil rights limits proposed by the far left. Bottom line? March had the second-highest number of background checks for the purchase of a firearm on record, beaten only by March of last year, according to new data from the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF). <\/p>\n NSSF analysis indicates more than two million background checks were conducted for the purchase of a firearm through the FBI\u2019s National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) last month. Through the first quarter of 2021, nearly 5.5 million were conducted, according to the NSSF-adjusted data.<\/p>\n President Joe Biden has spent the early months of his presidency building an ostensibly anti-gun cabinet, and his press secretary has indicated multiple times that anti-gun measures are coming in the not-so-distant future.<\/p>\n Last year saw more than 21 million background checks conducted for the sale of a firearm, a simply astonishing number. At the current pace, 2021 could potentially surpass that.<\/p>\n The NSSF-adjusted data factors out background checks that were unlikely to be used in the purchase of a firearm to better reflect the number of Americans buying guns.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n It’s a seller’s market, too, where MSRP rules.
