\nStaff Sgt. Russell Ruth was hungry one Sunday morning in 2019, so he went to his usual spot, across the street from his Savannah, Georgia, home, to meet some friends for his go-to brunch order \u2014 bacon, eggs and grits.<\/p>\n

After enlisting out of high school in 2011, Ruth had spent the past eight years serving with 1st Ranger Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, at Hunter Army Airfield in Savannah.<\/p>\n

But he\u2019d submitted a flight package and been accepted. In a few short months, he\u2019d trade stripes for warrant officer bars, flying in a helicopter instead of humping with a rucksack.<\/p>\n

Nearing noontime on March 24, 2019, Ruth was chatting up his two friends at the Brewer\u2019s Sports Pub and Grill, a local, strip-mall type restaurant where the Pensacola, Florida-native went for meals like these or to watch a game in the heavily adorned eatery for University of Georgia boosters.<\/p>\n

Ready to dig into his breakfast, Ruth suddenly heard something from the back of the restaurant, maybe a few dozen feet away from his table.<\/p>\n

\u201cI heard a scream in the back. I didn\u2019t know what it was, then I heard another scream,\u201d Ruth told Army Times.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

No charges for teen who shot stepfather during domestic dispute<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nCOLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) — The District Attorney’s Office says a Colorado Springs teenager will not face charges for killing his stepfather.<\/p>\n

According to Colorado Springs police, on September 4, 2020, Xavier Montoya, 18, shot and killed his stepfather during a domestic assault.<\/p>\n

At the scene, CSPD found Martin Rodriguez-Ramirez dead.<\/p>\n

A homicide investigation revealed Rodriguez-Ramirez was drunk and slamming his step-sons head onto concrete. That’s when Montoya shot and killed him.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
