Lt. Col. Yevgeny Vindman, who was fired last year from his job in the Trump White House, is set to be promoted to a full colonel, the Army said Tuesday.<\/p>\n
He’s the twin brother of Alexander Vindman, who was a key witness in the Ukraine impeachment inquiry.<\/p>\n
Both Army officers were serving on the National Security Council when they raised concerns about former President Donald Trump’s phone call to Ukranian President Volodymyr Zelensky in July 2019.<\/p>\n

Congrats to fellow selects for COL. #HereRightMatters<\/em><\/p>\n His promotion comes amid controversies of whether the military has become politicized under the Biden administration. Recently, a number of military leaders took to social media to slam conservative talk show host Tucker Carlson for criticizing Biden\u2019s focus on inclusivity for women in the military. On Monday, a Democrat congressman from Guam marched members of the Guam National Guard to Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) as part of a political stunt.<\/p>\n Vindman himself has been highly political \u2014 even if not in uniform.
