In Portland, OR a new line of thought has arisen: Increase police funding to stop raging gun violence? But why? Isn’t Portland just a wunnaful place to live these days?<\/p>\n

From the article:\u00a0 After stripping funds from police last year, Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler (D) urged city lawmakers this week to restore some funding for the Portland Police Department as law enforcement there battles violent crime.<\/p>\n

During his State of the City address on Friday, Wheeler asked for $2 million in funding for police and other agencies to combat the raging gun violence that is plaguing the city. – article<\/p>\n

Not to point out the obvious, but this is the same mayor who let the rioters do whatever they wished, went out of the City Hall building (or whatever it was) and hobnobbed with them, approved of what they did, and allowed them to destroy what used to be a beautiful West Coast city. Now, it’s a dump and everything that could go wrong because of what he did has happened.<\/p>\n

And he wants sympathy and wants to increase funding for the police???<\/p>\n

My response, based on his utter hypocrisy alone, is not just “No” , but ‘Hell, no!” He got himself into this mess. He can just get himself out. If he were sent out on night patrol and got tagged and bagged for it, he’d almost get what he deserves.<\/p>\n
