Ruff arrest: K9 busts alleged drug trafficker in Florida Keys<\/stron<\/strong><\/p>\n

KEY WEST, Fla. \u2013 A Key West woman faces methamphetamine trafficking and other drug charges after a bust that was assisted by K9 cop Coral, the Monroe County Sheriff\u2019s Office says.<\/p>\n

Brandy Victoria Gesell, 38, was arrested after a traffic stop Thursday night on Big Pine Key.<\/p>\n

Deputies say her Toyota Camry had expired tags and that Coral then alerted to drugs in the car.<\/p>\n

Authorities say they then found the following in the Camry:<\/p>\n

3.7 ounces of methamphetamine
\n1 gram of cocaine
\n8 grams of marijuana
\n2.5 Xanax pills
\nA digital scale
\n2 glass pipes
\nPlastic baggies often used to sell drugs
\nIn addition to the trafficking charge, Gesell also faces charges of possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance (pills) without a prescription and possession of drug paraphernalia.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Investigators say deputy and homeowner both fired in Chattaroy shooting<\/strong><\/p>\n

CHATTAROY, Wash. \u2014 In their latest update, investigators said a property owner and a Spokane County deputy both fired during a shooting in Chattaroy.<\/p>\n

The Spokane Independent Investigative Response Team has taken over the investigation since the incident on Sunday night, but up until Wednesday, had not indicated that the property owner had fired a weapon.<\/p>\n

According to authorities, thefts had been reported at a property along E. Grouse Rd and the owner had asked the Spokane County Sheriff\u2019s Office to conduct prowl checks.<\/p>\n

The property owner had returned to the area, but had not informed the Sheriff\u2019s Office, Sheriff Ozzie Knezovich said Sunday. He confronted Deputy Craig Cupo in the doorway of the building and both of them fired shots.<\/p>\n

The property owner was struck by a bullet and Cupo was uninjured. At this time, authorities have not said whether Cupo was in a marked car or if he identified himself as a law enforcement officer during the interaction.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
