\nThe Tallahassee Police Department is investigating after a homeowner shot and killed an intruder early Wednesday.<\/p>\n

TPD received a call just after 1 a.m. and responded to a house in the 2800 block of Old St. Augustine Road, near the intersection of Capital Circle SE, where they found a dead adult male.<\/p>\n

“We are investigating it as a home invasion, attempted burglary with a shooting,” department spokesperson Alicia Turner said Thursday. “The homeowner used deadly force on the suspect after they entered the home.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\nA domestic abuse victim shot a Crowley man in self-defense after months of abuse said Acadia Parish Sheriff K.P. Gibson.<\/p>\n

Deputies were called on Feb. 19 to a shooting involving a domestic matter at a home in the 2400 block of South Avenue F, which is south of Crowley.<\/p>\n

Brandon Hebert had been shot and was taken to a local hospital. Investigators identified a “long pattern of domestic abuse” through physical evidence and witness statements where Hebert was the aggressor, Gibson said. The abuse had been going on for about six months.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
