\u2018I\u2019ve Been With Some Of You When We\u2019ve Been Shot At\u2019: Biden Revives Story Of Being Under\u00a0Fire<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

President Biden has revived a story he told years ago that he was \u201cshot at\u201d overseas, mirroring a claim once made by Hillary Clinton for which she later said she \u201cmisspoke.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a short address to State Department employees on Thursday, Biden said, \u201cYou have great personal courage. I\u2019ve been with some of you when we\u2019ve been shot at.\u201d He offered no further details of the incident.<\/p>\n

Back in 2007, Biden was forced to walk back a similar claim during a CNN-hosted Democratic presidential debate. Then, he said he was \u201cshot at\u201d inside Baghdad\u2019s fortified Green Zone.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet\u2019s start telling the truth,\u201d he said at the debate. \u201cNumber one, you take all the troops out \u2014 you better have helicopters ready to take those 3,000 civilians inside the Green Zone, where I have been seven times and shot at. You better make sure you have protection for them, or let them die, number one.\u201d<\/p>\n

Biden later said, \u201cI was near where a shot landed.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Then, when questioned further about the incident, Biden replied…<\/em><\/p>\n

He added that the vehicle he was traveling in the day before might also have been hit. \u2026 Thinking about it now, he said, a more accurate comment would have been: \u2018I was near where a shot landed.’\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
