You can’t make this stuff up. People are calling on President Biden to appoint a “reality czar” and a “truth commission” to combat conservatives, which they are now calling “domestic extremists.”<\/p>\n

Academics and technology experts want President Biden to appoint a \u201creality czar\u201d and a \u201ctruth commission\u201d to mitigate the threat of domestic extremists and the spread of conspiracy theories.<\/p>\n

A piece by The New York Times titled \u201cHow the Biden Administration Can Help Solve Our Reality Crisis\u201d includes experts from Harvard University, Stanford, the University of Maryland, and other organizations with their take on how best to handle \u201choaxes, lies and collective delusions.\u201d<\/p>\n

Technology columnist Kevin Roose\u2019s piece specifically focuses on QAnon group chats, claims of widespread election fraud leading to Mr. Biden\u2018s election, and news disseminated from staunchly conservative media outlets.<\/p>\n

\u201cSeveral experts I spoke with recommended that the Biden administration put together a cross-agency task force to tackle disinformation and domestic extremism, which would be led by something like a \u2018reality czar,\u2019\u201d Mr. Roose wrote Tuesday. \u201cIt sounds a little dystopian, I\u2019ll grant. But let\u2019s hear them out.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ren\u00e9e DiResta, a disinformation researcher at Stanford\u2019s Internet Observatory, for example, noted that a pool of radicalized people might subscribe to conspiracy theories that implicate various federal agencies.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Like the Russian collusion conspiracy theory?<\/p>\n

\u201cIf each of them [addresses conspiracies] distinctly and independently, you run the risk of missing connections, both in terms of the content and in terms of the tactics that are used to execute on the campaigns,\u201d she told the newspaper.<\/p>\n

Similarly, Joan Donovan, the research director of Harvard University\u2019s Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics and Public Policy, supported the creation of a \u201ctruth commission\u201d in the wake of the Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere must be accountability for these actions,\u201d the researcher said. \u201cMy fear is that we will get distracted as a society and focus too much on giving voice to the fringe groups that came out in droves for Trump.\u201d<\/p>\n

Those interviewed for the piece were also in agreement that addressing perennial issues like the economy and health care would also go a long way in terms of curbing extremism.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn other words,\u201d Mr. Roose wrote, \u201cIf President Biden wants to bring extremists and conspiracy theorists back to reality, he can start by making that reality worth coming back to.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Remember when President Trump decried fake news and called the fake news media the enemy of the people? The same people that were saying then that that was stoking violence against the media (which never happened, except for the violent leftists that attack the media) and undermining the country’s “democracy” are now fully willing to silence opposition and institute an actual government agency to tell people what’s real. Because the government has never once lied to us about anything, right?<\/p>\n

These morons are calling for something that is literally out of 1984, Nazi Germany, and every communist-run shithole in history. All because people questioned the accuracy of the 2020 election.
