Reno police believe fatal shooting Wednesday night was self-defense<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nReno police believe a fatal shooting Wednesday evening was done in self-defense, according to a press release. <\/p>\n

Police responded to a report of a shooting Wednesday at approximately 8: 45 p.m.<\/p>\n

When officers arrived to the area of South Virginia Street and Hillcrest Drive, they discovered a dead body.<\/p>\n

The person was shot, according to the press statement. No other people were near the crime scene. <\/p>\n

Several minutes later, someone contacted police saying that he was involved in a shooting and fled the scene. The Robbery\/Homicide Unit responded to the call and are investigating. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Employee Shoots Suspected Robber<\/strong><\/p>\n

BELLINGHAM, Wash. (AP) \u2013 A sporting goods employee that \u201cfeared for his life\u201d shot a robbery suspect in the chest after he tried to use a hammer to smash glass to steal guns.<\/p>\n

Officers said the suspect was warned several times to stop when the employee pulled out his concealed firearm and shot the suspect once.<\/p>\n

The employee told police he feared for his life.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
