Armed NC patron opens fire on masked convenience store robbers<\/strong><\/p>\n

WENTWORTH, N.C. (AP) \u2013 A customer held at gunpoint during a convenience-store robbery in North Carolina interrupted the suspects\u2019 plan by opening fire on them.<\/p>\n

A Rockingham County Sheriff\u2019s Office news release said two masked men entered a Reidsville convenience store early on Christmas morning with guns and held the cashier and two patrons at gunpoint while they robbed the store.<\/p>\n

The news release says one of the patrons was armed and fired at the suspects. Investigators believe the suspects were hit by the gunfire.<\/p>\n

The two men then fled in a getaway car driven by a third person. The customers and clerk weren\u2019t injured.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Interior Alaska homeowner confronts teen burglary suspect, fires shot<\/strong><\/p>\n

Alaska State Troopers say a homeowner confronted a teenage theft suspect and fired a shot when the young man came at him.<\/p>\n

Troopers at about 10:30 a.m. Sunday took a call about a home invasion northwest of North Pole.<\/p>\n

Troopers say 18-year-old Raymond Koonaloak of Utqiagvik climbed through a dog door into the home and stole gloves and a circular saw.<\/p>\n

The homeowner, carrying a gun, confronted Koonaloak outside the home.<\/p>\n

Troopers say Koonaloak charged toward the homeowner, who fired a shot. No one was injured.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
