Surprising exactly no one, the Oath Keepers are once again in the news. Several members have been swept up by the FBI for participating in the recent Capitol Follies, and the Main Stream Media is all over it. For the MSM they embody the Ugly American Veteran- a violent PTSD\/TBI stricken psychopath with extreme political views and assault weapons. The friendly folks over at that bastion of Civil Rights, the Southern Poverty Law Center, opine,<\/p>\n
“The Oath Keepers, which claims tens of thousands of present and former law enforcement officials and military veterans as members, is one of the largest radical antigovernment groups in the U.S. today. While it claims only to be defending the Constitution, the entire organization is based on a set of baseless conspiracy theories about the federal government working to destroy the liberties of Americans.”<\/p>\n
Oath Keeper President Thomas Caldwell wishes it were so, at least the tens of thousands part, and the donations that could bring. Where was this army of armed malcontents on 6 January? No idea, but we do know where they weren’t.<\/p>\n
BY ERIN DONAGHUE<\/strong><\/p>\n Three suspected members of anti-government militia groups are facing conspiracy charges after federal prosecutors say they communicated with each other to plot how they would attack the U.S. Capitol during the January 6 riot, one sending messages that celebrated “storming the castle” and saying “We need to do this at the local level.”<\/p>\n Thomas Edward Caldwell, Jessica Marie Watkins and Donovan Crowl were charged Tuesday with conspiracy, conspiracy to impede or injure an officer, destruction of government property, obstruction of an official proceeding, unlawful entry into a restricted building and violent entry or disorderly conduct.<\/p>\n CBS News was first to obtain the complaint, which marks the first conspiracy case brought against rioters linked to an extremist group. Though the three were initially charged individually, the new complaint says the three plotted together to obstruct the Electoral College vote.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n I believe CBS News meant Congress’ voting to confirm the various state’s Electoral College results, but that point is moot. Three. Not tens of thousands. Just three. This is the reality, not what the MSM is using to impinge the image of LEOs and Military Vets. Last time I head from these clowns they were getting bags of gummy dicks in Nevada; hardly the bogymen the press would have all believe them to be. They may have started with good intentions, but the organization has devolved into a cesspool of wannbe’s, never-were’s, and posers.<\/p>\n Where were all the veteran LEOs and military, then? Those that attended demonstrations that day said their piece and went home. The rest sat it out and are in a wait-and-see mode, not liking the election results but resigned to reality once again, and looking to see how things can be done better next time.
