Austin Police officer fatally shoots gunman after altercation with off-duty cop<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nLAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) -An Austin Police officer fatally shot a man early Tuesday after a series of events that escalated when another, off-duty police officer opened fire on the man\u2019s car.<\/p>\n

According to reports, an off-duty officer told police that he was driving home early Tuesday in his personal vehicle when another driver cut him off.<\/p>\n

The off-duty officer said the driver pointed a gun at him, so the officer fired into the vehicle.<\/p>\n

Other officers responded and the driver got out of his vehicle and walked around to the passenger side and reached into the vehicle.<\/p>\n

Police said an on duty-officer then opened fire on the driver, killing him.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\nA young Moody boy is being lauded for his bravery after he pulled his sister to safety during an armed carjacking on Thursday.<\/p>\n

The ordeal began about 1:30 p.m. when Kristin Walker was putting gas into her vehicle in the area of U.S. 411 and Interstate 20. Her two small children \u2013 9-year-old Ethan and 6-year-old daughter Audrey \u2013 were in the back seat. At that point, a man got out of a Chevrolet SUV which had been parked at a pump near the victim and jumped into the driver\u2019s seat of the woman\u2019s vehicle.<\/p>\n

Walker could only think of her two babies inside the vehicle. \u201cI actually jumped in on top of him and pulled the keys out of the ignition,\u2019’ Walker told AL.com. \u201cI couldn\u2019t let him leave with them in the car and the only way I could think to stop him was to pull out the keys.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
