Woman kills live-in boyfriend after tomahawk incident, says it was self-defense<\/strong>
\n59-year-old woman isn\u2019t facing charges, according to Sheriff\u2019s Office<\/em><\/p>\n

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. \u2013 A Daytona Beach woman told police she was in bed late Christmas Eve when her live-in boyfriend raised a tomahawk over her — so she shot the man to death, she told detectives.<\/p>\n

Authorities with the Volusia County Sheriff\u2019s Office are now investigating. Deputies were called to the home, on San Jose Boulevard, about 11:45 p.m. Thursday, according to a news release.<\/p>\n

The woman, age 59, isn\u2019t facing any charges.<\/p>\n

She reported she grabbed a gun that was next to the bed and shot her partner, now identified as 60-year-old Troy Sorrell.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\nA New York man was shot and wounded by state troopers after brandishing a bow and arrow and attempting to charge officers with the weapon.<\/p>\n

A press release from the New York State Police says officers arrived in response to a domestic violence incident, but after speaking with the victim, a male suspect, identified as 40-year-old Ryan T. Ehman, \u201cadvanced towards Troopers armed with a bow and arrow.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cTroopers gave several commands to drop the weapon, and after he failed to comply a Trooper discharged his Division issued firearm, striking Ehman,\u201d the press release said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
