Police: Woman shoots, kills boyfriend at South Nashville apartment<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nNASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) \u2014 Metro police said they’re investigating after a women said she shot and killed her boyfriend in self-defense at her South Nashville apartment.<\/p>\n

The shooting happened at the Swiss View Apartments, just off of Nolensville Pike near Old Hickory Boulevard. Police said 31-year-old Tiffany McMutuary called 911 at 12:41 a.m. to report that she had shot 38-year-old Anthony D. Davis.<\/p>\n

McMutuary told police that Davis had grabbed her by the neck during an argument and said he was going to kill her. She said she got away from Davis and got his gun from another room. According to police, McMutuary said she confronted Davis with the pistol and shot him as he advanced on her.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Off-duty police officer shoots suspect after her car is rear-ended, pinned on I-75<\/strong><\/p>\n

An off-duty Detroit police officer and a man were wounded in a shootout early Thursday after the man rammed her vehicle against a highway construction barrier, pinning it there before he left his vehicle and opened fire, police said.<\/p>\n

The female officer, who returned gunfire and drove from the scene after the shooting, was hospitalized in stable condition with a graze wound, while the 34-year-old man was listed in critical condition with a gunshot wound, police said, citing preliminary information.<\/p>\n

The off-duty officer was traveling shortly after midnight Thursday in her personal vehicle along Interstate-75 on the city\u2019s southwest side when her vehicle was rear-ended by a pickup truck driven by the man, police said.<\/p>\n

The officer tried to drive away from that truck but the man followed and rammed her vehicle, pinning it against a construction barrier wall before he exited his truck and the two exchanged gunfire.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
