PBSO: Man acted in self defense in Wellington shooting<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nWELLINGTON \u2014 A Wellington man was acting in self defense when he shot and killed another man during a fight Monday night, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday.<\/p>\n

Andrew Hodges, 52, was “the aggressor” when he was fatally shot by Joshua Zero, 21, who was defending himself, PBSO detectives determined.<\/p>\n

The shooting happened about 8 p.m. Monday at a single-family, one-story home on Capeside Circle just inside the entrance to Wellington Lakes. The neighborhood is on the west side of Big Blue Trace and north of South Shore Boulevard.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\nA Federal Way man charged with first-degree assault after shooting a newspaper delivery driver five times was found not guilty.<\/p>\n

According to prosecutors, then-30-year-old Daniel Morgan McLaughlin allegedly shot the unarmed victim \u2014 39-year-old Travis Zimmerman \u2014 after following him as he delivered newspapers in the Twin Lakes area at approximately 3 a.m. May 25, 2019, in the 31600 block of 37th Ave. SW.<\/p>\n

On March 5, 2020, a jury found McLaughlin not guilty.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
