Victim kills one in Lauderdale Lakes armed robbery and second robber faces murder charge, detectives say<\/strong><\/p>\n

One man is dead and another is facing a murder charge following an armed robbery where a victim opened fire on the pair, the Broward Sheriff\u2019s Office said.<\/p>\n

Litanis Alcira, 41, of Margate, and another man robbed two people in the 3900 block of Northwest 34th Way in Lauderdale Lakes about 10:30 p.m. on Nov. 20, investigators said.<\/p>\n

One of the victims had a permit to carry a concealed weapon. Detectives said he was in fear for his life when he drew his gun and fired, wounding one of the robbery suspects.<\/p>\n

Alcira drove the wounded accomplice a couple miles south to the South Lakes Shopping Plaza at 3710 W. Oakland Park Blvd., east of U.S. 441. He called 911 and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue took the wounded man to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, investigators said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Would-be robber fatally shot by customer at Northeast Philadelphia Wingstop, police say<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nA man who stopped for late-night takeout in a Northeast Philadelphia eatery found himself in the middle of a robbery. Police said he fired the fatal shot that stopped the crime.<\/p>\n

It happened at around 10:30 Sunday night at the Wingstop in the 2100 block Cottman Avenue.<\/p>\n

Police said the suspect, a 53-year-old man, came in wearing a mask and gloves.<\/p>\n

“(He) walked in, went behind the counter, announced a robbery and asked for all the money,” said Philadelphia Police Department Chief Inspector Scott Small.<\/p>\n

Before the three employees who were inside could comply with his demands, a customer walked in talking on his cell phone.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
