If she does so, she apparently won’t be alone.<\/p>\n The practice is allowed for lawmakers, with some limitations, under decades-old congressional regulations. The public is barred from carrying weapons in the Capitol, its grounds and office buildings.<\/p>\n Republican\u00a0Lauren Boebert<\/a>, 33, was elected this month from a conservative western Colorado district after gaining notice as a brash pro-gun activist who straps a Glock pistol to her hip. In an upset last June, she defeated five-term Rep. Scott Tipton for the GOP nomination, in part by claiming he wasn’t an ardent enough backer of\u00a0President Donald Trump<\/a>.<\/p>\n Boebert asked Capitol Police officials about carrying her weapon when she and other House freshmen taking office in January were in town recently for orientation programs, according to two congressional officials. Both people \u2014 a Democrat and a Republican \u2014 spoke on condition of anonymity to describe her request. \u2013 article<\/p>\n Per Framm\u2019s article, Rep. Boebert is not the only gun-totin\u2019 Congress Critter in WDC.<\/em> There is simply no list of who does and does not carry a weapon to work.<\/p>\n The following is also in the article, regarding a 1967 law passed that allows this action: A 1967 regulation says no federal or District of Columbia laws restricting firearms \u201cshall prohibit any Member of Congress from maintaining firearms within the confines of his office” or \u201cfrom transporting within Capitol grounds firearms unloaded and securely wrapped<\/em>.” – article<\/p>\n While there may be a movement underway to somehow deprive Americans of their legal Constitutional right to bear arms, which is left to the states to regulate, and P-E Biden has hinted that he wants a “buy-back” at the federal level (don’t get me started on the stupidity here), don’t get your undies in a bunch about that kind of thing. Most of it is noise to get votes from the village idiots who want handouts and will go steal guns to do drive-by shootings in the ‘Hoods. Don’t think so?
