Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-New York) was slammed by conservatives after suggesting that the names of “Trump sycophants” should be archived for future reference.<\/p>\n
\u201cIs anyone archiving these Trump sycophants for when they try to downplay or deny their complicity in the future?\u201d the New York congresswoman tweeted Friday.<\/p>\n
Of course they are. A group is putting together an enemies list called \u201cThe Trump Accountability Project\u201d and is including the names of everyone who worked to help Trump.<\/p>\n
The official website for the group, https:\/\/www.trumpaccountability.net\/<\/a>, says openly that they are planning revenge.<\/p>\n Memories are short in “This Town.” Just look at the veterans of George W. Bush\u2019s White House, who did just fine for themselves.<\/em><\/strong> Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez kicked things off on Friday with a tweet that terrified Trumpworld.<\/p>\n \u201cIs anyone archiving these Trump sycophants for when they try to downplay or deny their complicity in the future?\u201d she wrote. \u201cI foresee decent probability of many deleted Tweets, writings, photos in the future.\u201d<\/p>\n A group calling itself the Trump Accountability Project sprung up to heed AOC\u2019s call.<\/p>\n \u201cRemember what they did,\u201d the group\u2019s sparse website declares. \u201cWe should not allow the following groups of people to profit from their experience: Those who elected him. Those who staffed his government. Those who funded him.\u201d<\/p>\n Rarely a healthy sign in any democracy, the enemies lists started to freak out some normally unflappable Trump officials in the White House.<\/p>\n \u201cAt first I brushed it off as ridiculous, but what is scary is that she\u2019s serious,\u201d said a White House official of AOC\u2019s tweet. \u201cThat is terrifying that a sitting member of Congress is calling for something like that. I believe there is a life after this in politics for Trump officials, but the idea that a sitting member of Congress wants to purge from society and ostracize us should scare the American people. It definitely should scare the American people more than it scares me. That type of rhetoric is terrifying when you have 70 million Americans who voted for this president. It might start with Trump officials but what if they go further?\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Impossible, just right-wing noise of course. America stands for the post election peaceful transition of power, where winners and losers shake hands and get on with the business of the nation, right? It certainly used to be that way, but something happened in 2016 where this no longer is quite true. Now we have this, lists of undesirables.
