While we wait for the results of today’s elections, let us not forget that there’s a holiday for our kind coming up very shortly. What started as a day of remembrance for the Armistice of World War I (which went into effect on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the eleventh month<\/a>) became a day for all veterans after World War II. Now, as with everything in the US, it’s become a day of rampant commercialism. Fracking capitalist pigs. I didn’t serve so Joe Six-Pack could get a good price on an outdoor sofa sectional!<\/p>\n

Well, we should at least take advantage of what the day has to offer. While we call our service buddies and reminisce about old times and those we lost along the way, go get some free shit. I’m sure most of you are like me and do not really partake of these things, but there shouldn’t be any shame in it. To a point. One of my dad’s buddies spends literally the entire day eating and taking as much free shit as he can.<\/p>\n
