A former US soldier obsessed with witchcraft will be put to death by lethal injection Tuesday \u2014 19 years after raping and killing a woman he thought had put a spell on him.<\/p>\n

William Emmet LeCroy, 50, is set to die at the federal prison in Terre Haute, Indiana, for the murder of Joann Lee Tiesler on Oct. 7, 2001.<\/p>\n

LeCroy\u2019s lawyers unsuccessfully petitioned President Trump to commute his sentence to life in prison, citing in part the death of his brother, Georgia State Trooper Chad LeCroy, who was killed during a routine traffic stop in 2010, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe pain and sorrow felt by the LeCroy family at potentially losing two of their sons is unimaginable,\u201d the petition said.<\/p>\n

LeCroy broke into Tiesler\u2019s home in Cherrylog, Georgia, waiting for her to return from a shopping trip. When she walked through the door, LeCroy blasted her with a shotgun, bound and raped her. Then he slashed her throat and repeatedly stabbed her in the back.<\/p>\n

He later told investigators that he believed Tiesler, 30, may have been his old babysitter he called Tinkerbell, who he claimed sexually molested him as a child. He thought that killing Tiesler \u2014 whom he knew as a relative\u2019s neighbor \u2014 would reverse a hex she put on him.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

LeCroy joined the Army at 17 but was soon discharged for going AWOL. He became obsessed with witchcraft during a previous stint in prison for burglary, child molestation and other charges.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Trump resumed federal executions this year after a 17-year hiatus.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Stop it, New York Post. I can only vote for the man once! I’m really going to miss voting for Trump. LeCroy will be the sixth executed at Terre Haute this year, with another scheduled for later this week.<\/p>\n
