Gas station robbery attempt ends with one man shot dead, Broward Sheriff\u2019s Office says<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nA Pembroke Pines man who tried to be an armed robber became a shooting fatality before dawn Sunday, the Broward Sheriff\u2019s Office said.<\/p>\n

BSO says Stephon Brown, 34, walked into the Valero gas station at 2400 W. Sunrise Blvd. around 5 a.m. and pulled out a gun to rob the place. The clerk pulled out his own gun and fired, hitting Brown several times.<\/p>\n

Brown managed to get out of the Valero and across Northwest 24th Avenue before falling on the sidewalk in front of a McDonald\u2019s. Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue got Brown to a hospital, where he died.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\nA 44-year-old woman is hospitalized after being shot Thursday morning in a home near Daphne.<\/p>\n

The homeowner on Collier Loop Road was in the bathtub when her children heard a commotion in the front of the house. \u201cSo they go back and tell the mother that someone is in the house. They don\u2019t know who it is and they should not be in the house,\u201d says Baldwin County Sheriff\u2019s Captain Clint Cadenhead.<\/p>\n

That led to a confrontation between the homeowner and a woman she knew, who used to live there. \u201cShe commands the person to get out of the house. They don\u2019t leave. She ends up getting a firearm out of the bedside table and again telling the person to leave and the information we have the person that got shot may have reached for the gun.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
