Burglary suspect wounded in officer-involved shooting in Milledgeville<\/strong><\/p>\n

A 50-year-old Atlanta man is recovering from a gunshot wound in a Macon hospital after he was shot Wednesday morning by a police officer following a string of burglaries and a brief chase.<\/p>\n

Antonio Craig Martin is also a suspect in a pair of burglaries in Milledgeville as well as others in the surrounding area, according to Mary H. Chandler, special agent in-charge of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Region 6 Office in Milledgeville.<\/p>\n

The shooting followed a pair of burglaries at two businesses and a brief vehicle chase that ended at the Oconee Greenway Park in downtown Milledgeville.<\/p>\n

The chase ended when the suspect crashed a Chevrolet pickup truck that he had reportedly stolen from a business in Eatonton several hours earlier.<\/p>\n

The police officer, whose name was not released by authorities, was not injured.<\/p>\n

Martin is also a suspect in two break-ins of businesses and the theft of an older model pickup truck in Eatonton, The Union-Recorder has learned.<\/p>\n

Martin, who sustained a gunshot wound to the foot, is recuperating at The Medical Center, Navicent Health in Macon, according to the GBI press release.<\/p>\n

Authorities said Martin, who was just released from the Putnam County Jail in Eatonton just a few hours before his alleged crime spree in Eatonton, Milledgeville and Sparta, was treated at the scene by personnel with Grady Emergency Medical Services. He was later airlifted by an AirEvac helicopter from Milledgeville to the Macon trauma center.<\/p>\n

Martin now faces a litany of criminal charges.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

McCleary woman says she had no choice when she shot, killed estranged husband<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nMCCLEARY, Wash. — A woman says she had no choice but to defend herself and her friend when she shot and killed her estranged husband Wednesday night at a McCleary home.<\/p>\n

The man had a domestic violence protection order against him and she says he broke in and attacked them with a knife.<\/p>\n

The Grays Harbor County Sheriff\u2019s Office says this all unfolded at about 9:25 p.m. Wednesday in the 400 block of West Elma Hicklin Road on the outskirts of town.<\/p>\n

The 47-year-old estranged husband broke in and was confronted by a 60-year-old man, a friend of the woman.<\/p>\n

\u201cA struggle ensued with the man with the knife and a 36-year-old female who was home at the time was able to shoot the suspect with the knife fatally wounding him,\u201d said Undersheriff Brad Johansson.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Armed robbery suspect shot dead by victim he was trying to rob in West Philadelphia<\/strong><\/p>\n

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — A would-be robber is dead after police say he was shot by a victim he was trying to rob on Sunday night.<\/p>\n

It happened around 8:30 p.m. near 60th and Girard Avenue in West Philadelphia.<\/p>\n

Police say the suspect, roughly 25 to 30 years old, was attempting to rob a man who was sitting on the front steps of his home at gunpoint.<\/p>\n

The resident had a license to carry and opened fire on the would-be robber. Police said the victim fired the shots in self-defense.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
