Police: Carjackers charged with murder after victim kills accomplice in self-defense<\/strong><\/p>\n

A man and woman have been charged with murder after an armed carjacking victim shot and killed their 18-year-old accomplice in self defense at a South County car wash over the weekend.<\/p>\n

Police officers found Brandon Whitfield, 18, of the 1700 block of Rosado in Spanish Lake, 63138, dying of at least one gunshot wound when they responded to the scene at the Classic Car Wash in the 4800 block of Lemay Ferry Road around 1:17 a.m. Sunday. He was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n

St. Louis County prosecutors on Tuesday charged Markus Billingsley, 34, and Radonna Smith, 36, both of the 3900 block of South Grand Boulevard in St. Louis, 63118, with a slate of felonies in Whitfield\u2019s death.<\/p>\n

Along with second-degree murder, prosecutors also charged the pair with first-degree assault, first-degree robbery, vehicle hijacking and four counts of armed criminal action. It is the first known use in South County of the newly enacted vehicle hijacking\/carjacking law sponsored by Rep. David Gregory of Sunset Hills.<\/p>\n

Billingsley and Smith are being held in the St. Louis County Justice Center on $250,000 cash-only bond.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

LPD: Special needs person stabs man in self-defense<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nThe stabbing reported on Tuesday in the 100 block of East Hillside Road was in self-defense, according to Laredo police.<\/p>\n

Officers responded to the stabbing at about 9:50 p.m. First officers on the scene met with two men and a woman by the residence.<\/p>\n

A man who had a laceration to the left side of his body was identified as Miguel Angel Salazar, 29. Police said he also had marijuana on him. He was taken to Laredo Medical Center in stable condition.<\/p>\n

Crimes against persons detectives arrived at the scene and began speaking with the man who remained at the scene. He stated he was inside his residence when the woman went outside and discovered that Salazar was outside the residence, according to police.<\/p>\n

Salazar then noticed that a man was inside the residence and began confronting the victim. The confrontation escalated when Salazar began assaulting the victim, who is a special needs person, prompting the victim to grab a kitchen knife in self-defense.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Police: Woman fatally shot after barging into apartment<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nA man fatally shot his girlfriend\u2019s former partner this morning in an apparent act of self-defense, according to Metro Police.<\/p>\n

The woman suffered a single gunshot wound and died at University Medical Center, Lt. Ray Spencer said. <\/p>\n

Officers responded about 4 a.m. to an apartment complex in the 5200 block of Charleston Boulevard, near Nellis Boulevard, Spencer said. <\/p>\n

The former partner showed up at an apartment unannounced to gather some of her belongings and began loudly knocking and banging on the door, Spencer said.<\/p>\n

The man grabbed a gun, went to the door and asked who was there multiple times, Spencer said.<\/p>\n

No one answered, so he cracked the door open, Spencer said. That\u2019s when the woman shoved her way inside, prompting the man to open fire, Spencer said.<\/p>\n

When the man recognized the woman, he began to render aid, Spencer said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
