‘Wild’ Florida man fatally shot in bizarre home invasion<\/strong>

\nA \u201cwild, totally out of control\u201d ex-con was shot dead after he crashed his car into a fence, tried to climb onboard a school bus, jumped on two cars and then broke into a house, a Florida sheriff said.<\/p>\n

The bizarre incident happened just before dawn Friday morning in Polk City.<\/p>\n

The man who killed Mayson Armando Ortiz-Vazquez, 45, of Orlando, acted to protect his family, including his 9-year-old child, Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said, according to the Lakeland Ledger.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey were trying to control him inside the house,\u201d Judd said, according to the paper. \u201cHe grabbed the glass that didn\u2019t break when he broke in and threw it at the homeowner. And that is when they shot him, and he went down.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ortiz-Vazquez went to Polk City to buy drugs, according to the paper.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis has meth written all over it,\u201d Judd said, the paper reported. \u201cAt 6:10 this morning, he goes totally wild, totally out of control. Very dangerous and he does a home invasion. \u2026 This was a very frightening event today.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\nAn Adams County judge failed to read the entirety of the relevant Colorado law to jurors in a homicide trial, which caused the Court of Appeals on Thursday to throw out the defendant\u2019s second degree murder conviction.<\/p>\n

\u201cBecause the definition provided to the jury failed to track the language of the statutory deadly weapon definition \u2014 indeed, it omitted a significant and material portion of the statutory definition \u2014 it was erroneous,\u201d wrote Judge Michael H. Berger for the three-member panel.<\/p>\n

According to court documents, Cesar Reyes-Marquez was working at an auto body shop in July 2010 when he and a coworker learned about a fight involving employees of a neighboring business. Angered, the coworker went to that business and began throwing bottles at the shop and the vehicle of one of the employees.<\/p>\n

Gabriel Campos, Servando Morelos-Avila and Hugo Perada-Lopez heard the commotion and confronted the man. There was an altercation, which resulted in Reyes-Marquez shooting and killing Morelos-Avila. The other two men survived their gunshots.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
