Officers were called to reports of a disturbance, and they found Hornya still inside the home.

Hornya was transported to KU Med Great Bend, where he was flown by Eagle Med to Wichita. He has been released from the hospital, but his wound is still considered critical due to its location, according to local media.

The case has been submitted to the county attorney for possible prosecution, and Detective Heather Smith told local media that she anticipates an arrest warrant will be served “depending on his condition.”

It is still unclear why Hornya entered the residence or why he assaulted the homeowners. (WTHI) – No charges will be filed after a self-defense shooting at a Vigo County grocery store last month.

It happened on July, 29 at Kroger in southern Vigo County. Officials say Otis Parks shot Sean Martin two times, in self-defense.

Here’s what happened.

The Vigo County Prosecutor’s Office says Parks gave a statement saying Martin started following him on 7th Street and began driving around him aggressively.

Parks said he pulled into the back entrance to the Kroger parking lot, and Martin quickly turned in, going across traffic to follow.

Martin stopped in the lane right behind his parked car. Parks, a legal gun owner, said he took a handgun out of his glove box and got out of his car, keeping the gun at his side.

Parks told investigators he asked Martin “What’s your problem, man?” That’s when Martin reportedly grabbed Parks by the neck. Parks then shot Martin twice and called 911.

Witnesses and surveillance video helped confirm most of Parks’ report.

In the surveillance video, investigators could see Martin hit a sign while he tried to follow Parks.

Martin was a school protection officer with the Vigo County School Corporation.

1 / 0 / 0
Read the rest here: WTHI TV

Customer confronts suspects with gun at Columbia Waffle House, shots fired
Deputies are investigating an overnight armed robbery after two men walked into a Waffle House and demanded money.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Richland County deputies say two suspects have been arrested in an early morning attempted armed robbery of a Columbia Waffle House.

Officers charged 19-year-old Jamal Ford and 22-year-old Kenji Yates with attempted armed robbery.

Investigators say it happened around midnight on Tuesday, August 11 at the Waffle House located on 2345 Broad River Road.

According to officials, the suspects walked into the business, pointed guns at the cook, and demanded money.

Deputies say one customers in the restaurant who is also a licensed gun owner confronted the suspects. The court’s three-judge panel said that while the law has a “laudable goal of reducing gun violence,” it must also comply with the Constitution.

“California’s near-categorical ban of LCMs infringes on the fundamental right to self-defense. It criminalizes the possession of half of all magazines in America today,” the majority in the 2-1 ruling stated.

“It makes unlawful magazines that are commonly used in handguns by law abiding citizens for self-defense. And it substantially burdens the core right of self-defense guaranteed to the people under the Second Amendment,” Judge Kenneth Lee wrote in the majority opinion. “It cannot stand.”

Lee said that while the law was passed “in the wake of heart-wrenching and highly publicized mass shootings” the law was too sweeping.

It upholds a 2017 ruling by San Diego-based U.S. District Judge Roger Benitez, who blocked a new law that would have barred gun owners from possessing magazines holding more than 10 bullets.

California can now seek a delay, or ask for a Supreme Court review of the decision. And doubtless will, but it is another step in the right direction.

Read the entire article here: Fox News

Poetrooper sent us a link after the fact, just to show he cares.
