All veterans have prepared for war. Some of our readers and columnists have gone to war. Our veteran and first responders here have all had to sacrifice for their service. During this time of COVID though, there are other people putting their lives on the line. Here’s one that demands you bow before his greatness.<\/p>\n
Turtleboy reports<\/a> on a Danvers, MA teacher who is\u00a0very\u00a0<\/em>concerned about COVID. He doesn’t want your hollow platitude of thanks those thanks are meaningless when the world has schools. Those schools need teachers with books and pencils. Who’s gonna do it? You? He has a greater responsibility than you can possibly\u00a0<\/em>fathom. You have the luxury of not knowing what he knows. You don’t want the truth of being a public school teacher because deep down in places you don’t talk about at parties, you want him in that school, you\u00a0need\u00a0<\/em>him in that school.<\/p>\n This particular fellow works at the same school in which a teacher was\u00a0raped and murdered\u00a0<\/em>in 2013 by a student. That pales in comparison to the mental and physical trauma he will suffer if he is forced to return to school this fall.<\/p>\n I make light here, but teaching kids is a hard job. I wouldn’t want to do it. I’m grateful we have people that do want to do it. Most of them put more time and effort into the job than is returned to them in compensation. It can be a thankless job some days, I’m sure. It is, however, not akin to charging San Juan Hill, climbing Mt Suribachi, or pushing a squad car in Baltimore City.<\/p>\n Source;\u00a0TB Daily News<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
