\nThe Minneapolis police department has told residents of the 3rd Precinct how to protect themselves after reports of increasing crime\u2014and it isn’t calling the police.<\/em><\/p>\n

The letter provides robbery prevention tips residents should heed in light of rising violence.<\/p>\n

To avoid being mugged, the police suggest that residents only carry those items they need to have with them, not much cash, and to “be prepared to give up your cell phone and purse\/wallet.”<\/p>\n

We recently reported how the Seattle Police chief was warning residents and business owners in her city that the police would not be able to protect them or their property from violent rioters there; this was due the city council\u2019s directive that took away less-lethal tools police often use to quell such riots. If you thought that was outlandish, wait until you hear the latest from the Minneapolis Police.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Minneapolis Police Advise Residents to Accept Getting Robbed<\/h3>\n

Minneapolis is obviously where the killing of George Floyd took place. Protests immediately followed, many of which have turned into rioting, violence and destruction.<\/p>\n

According to the latest instructions from the Minneapolis Police Department, if someone tries to rob you in that city, you should just let them have whatever they want\u2014no need to resist. Those instructions come from a sheet listing \u201crobbery prevention tips\u201d and circulated by the department.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne hundred robberies and 20 carjackings have been reported to 3rd Precinct Police in July alone,\u201d the introductory paragraph stated. \u201cDowntown and Southwest Minneapolis have seen an increase as well. We want those who live and work here to be safe!\u201d<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, what comes next shows that the department might actually be more interested in making sure those committing the crimes don\u2019t have to face a victim that might put up a fight. One instruction states, \u201cDespite all our efforts, robberies may still occur! Do not argue or fight with the criminal. Do as they say. Your safety is most important!\u201d Another states, \u201cCarry only items you need, and carry less cash.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

One hopes the good people of Minneapolis, those that are left, remember who is responsible for this debacle, and vote accordingly.<\/p>\n
