Investigation remains ongoing after domestic fight led to shooting in Lee County<\/strong><\/p>\n

Authorities are still investigating a domestic fight which led to a 29-year-old man, who was armed with a handgun, shooting his 53-year-old father, who was armed with an axe.<\/p>\n

Lee County Commonwealth’s Attorney H. Fuller Cridlin told News 5 earlier this week that the incident involved a father and a son. His office is working closely with Virginia State Police to determine whether a crime was committed, or whether the shooter acted justifiably in self-defense.<\/p>\n

According to Virginia State Police, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call on Wednesday afternoon about a fight between two adult male family members in the 100 block of Sugar Maple Drive in Jonesville. A second call minutes later detailed that the fight escalated to one of the men being knocked unconscious. A third call reported the man regained consciousness, the fighting resumed between the men, and that one of the men was armed with an axe and the other was armed with a handgun.<\/p>\n

Police said it was the 29-year-old man armed with a handgun who had shot the 53-year-old man who was armed with an axe.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

A woman shot and killed her boyfriend after argument in Chandler<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nCHANDLER, AZ (3TV\/CBS 5) – A man died in Chandler after a shooting Saturday morning near McQueen and Pecos roads.<\/p>\n

Chandler Police were called around 2:45 a.m. about an argument between a man and a woman at a home.<\/p>\n

Reports of gunshots broke out soon after the call and arriving officers found a 35-year-old Phoenix man that police identified as Ben Beasley, with a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital where died from his injuries an hour later, police say.<\/p>\n

Police learned that Beasley was assaulting a woman inside a home that led to an fight outside the home.<\/p>\n

A juvenile at the home allegedly gave the the handgun to the woman after she asked for it, police say.<\/p>\n

Beasley was trying to leave in a car and attempted to run over the woman as she stood in the driveway. According to police, she fired the shot inside the car at him.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
