NASA is having it rough these days, trying to search for astronomical terms that will not offend people, e.g., \u201cdwarf galaxy\u201d meaning smaller than usual galaxy, and Sombrero galaxy, when it does look a lot like a specific style of chapeau.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe space agency only mentioned the \u201cEskimo Nebula\u201d and \u201cSiamese Twins Galaxy\u201d in their official memo, but claims it plans to scour the archives to find more examples of potentially insensitive or non-diverse terms and duly erase them. They hope that by doing this, people all around the world will see fit to follow their example.<\/p>\n

Some sufficiently “more approachable and public-friendly” nicknames will likely be spared NASA\u2019s razor. A NASA official stated that the \u201cHorsehead Nebula\u201d seemed fine to him and would likely be allowed to stay under the current rules.<\/p>\n

However, in the real world, it would appear that things aren\u2019t as simple and controllable as NASA perhaps wishes them to be. The measures being implemented by NASA seem to be not so popular on social media such as Twitter.\u00a0This particular tweet<\/a>\u00a0makes an important and timely serious of inquiries as to how far the change of nomenclature plans to go.\u201d – article<\/p>\n

I think they are quite good suggestions for alternative names for things astronomical, don’t you?\u00a0\u00a0How about we just rename Uranus something better such as \u201cStick It Up Your Butt\u201d??\u00a0 Fair warning: there are other things there that might make you choke on your beverage, so please swallow before viewing anything. But NASA, in its haste to please the Unpleasable Crowd, is also falling down on the job, having not noticed a rather large and hard-rock type asteroid doing a flyby at Earth until several days after it had passed.\u00a0 https:\/\/thepostmillennial.com\/football-field-sized-asteroid-passes-close-by-earth-undetected<\/a><\/p>\n

The size of a football field, huh?\u00a0 Just so you know, your Homeowners policy, even with Umbrella Liability, won’t cover the cost of replacement\/repairs if a Big Rock From Outer Space falls out of the sky and lands on your domicile. There is nothing, however, that says you can’t sue NASA for home replacement compensation for falling down on their job.<\/p>\n
