Virginia Police report a rape suspect released from jail due to the coronavirus pandemic went on to kill the woman who had both accused him and testified against him. <\/p>\n
Ibrahim E. Bouaichi was tracked down by authorities, but he had shot himself and was listed in grave condition.<\/p>\n
Bouaichi was indicted last year on charges including abduction, strangulation, and rape. He was jailed without bond in Alexandria.<\/p>\n
The woman testified against him in Alexandria District Court in December.<\/p>\n
Ibrahim E. Bouaichi was released in April, and fatally shot the woman in July, report says<\/em><\/strong> A Virginia rape suspect, who was released from jail because of concerns regarding the new coronavirus, went on to kill the woman who had accused him, according to police.<\/p>\n The Washington Post was first to report that Ibrahim E. Bouaichi shot and killed the woman in late July, after he was released April 9, according to the newspaper and Alexandria police.<\/p>\n Bouaichi was indicted last year on charges that included abduction, strangulation and rape. The woman, whom police identified as Karla Elizabeth Dominguez Gonzalez, testified against him in Alexandria District Court in December.<\/p>\n He was jailed without bond in Alexandria \u2013 until the pandemic hit. Bouaichi\u2019s lawyers argued that he should be freed awaiting trial because the virus endangered inmates and their attorneys. He was released on a $25,000 bond over the objections of a prosecutor.<\/p>\n Circuit Court Judge Nolan Dawkins released Bouaichi on the condition that he only leave his Maryland home to meet with his lawyers or pretrial services officials.<\/p>\n He is accused of killing Gonzalez on July 29.<\/p>\n On Tuesday, police published a statement stating they were looking for Bouaichi, whom they described as armed and dangerous.<\/p>\n Authorities said Wednesday that federal marshals and Alexandria police spotted and pursued Bouaichi in Prince George\u2019s County, where he crashed his vehicle and apparently shot himself. As of Thursday, he was in grave condition.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n More’s the pity.

\nWell played Virginia- releasing a violent sex offender into the unaware populace where he is able to both arm himself and kill his accuser is a master stroke of idiocy. I don’t suppose she was warned of these actions, either. But we’ll never really know now, will we?
