<\/p>\nIran said Saturday it has arrested the head of a U.S.-based “terrorist group” accused of being behind a deadly 2008 bombing in the southern city of Shiraz and of other abortive attacks.<\/p>\n
The group’s “Jamshid Sharmahd, who was leading armed and sabotage operations inside Iran, is now in the powerful hands” of Iran’s security forces, state television said in a report citing a statement from the intelligence ministry.<\/p>\n
I’m confused about a few things, so bear with me.<\/p>\n
1 – Iran got rid of the Shah and has since then devolved into a medieval state that has its undies in a constant state of bunching.<\/p>\n
2 – They do everything they can to annoy their neighbors, including Kuwait which has to move its oil tankers through the Persian Gulf.<\/p>\n
3 – Iran still can’t figure out how to build real ships, so they keep trying to steal stuff like that. Remember that oil tanker they abducted a year or so ago?<\/p>\n
4 – They want to live in a post-Bronze Age way, but they want all the bennies of modern life, including rocket science so that they can build bigger missiles. But their missiles don’t do very well when asked to deploy.<\/p>\n
Someone please tell me why they are so achingly dumb, and also, why the Iranian “military” are all wearing spats on their boots? We used to wear those in my high school band but that was a different century or millenium or something – maybe Medieval Times – and none of us had paratrooper boots to polish.<\/p>\n
Is Iran simply “all show and no go”, or am I missing something in this?<\/p>\n
