HATTIESBURG, Miss. (WDAM)<\/a> – The Hattiesburg Police Department is currently investigating a shooting that left one person injured Sunday morning.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

According to HPD spokesperson Ryan Moore, officers responded to the shooting just before 11:30 a.m. in the 2500 block of West 7th\u00a0Street.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

A male victim was transported to a local hospital to be treated for his injuries when officers arrived at the scene.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Another man was taken into custody to be questioned about what took place.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Investigators learned that the incident was an isolated shooting and was out of self-defense.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

No charges are being filed at this time, and the investigation is ongoing.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

A man was taken to a local hospital early Sunday after an argument turned violent, Fort Worth police said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

The shooting happened around 3:15 a.m. at The Phoenix Apartments at 429 College Ave.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

According to police at the scene, a woman’s ex-boyfriend was trying to get into an apartment gate while arguing with her.<\/p>\n

\n

At some point, police say her brother got involved in the argument and allegedly shot the ex-boyfriend.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Police said the shooting was possibly in self-defense. The shooter has been taken into custody.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Officials could not say what the man’s condition was at the hospital. However, in a letter WFAA obtained that was sent to tenants, building management said one person was killed in the incident.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
