Having been serving in the US Navy as sailor and civilian for, err, a very long time, I’ve been witness to some Very Bad Ideas. I thought a real low was achieved post-Tailhook, were ADM Boorda (yes, that one) went on an excellent summer tour to personally ass-chew every sailor, Officer and Enlisted, for the sin of being male and therefore guilty of sexual harassment, because of inexcusable frat-boy antics of a few out-of-control Jet Jocks in Las Vegas. A truly epic global all-hands evolution.<\/p>\n

By: KRISTINA WONG<\/strong><\/p>\n A U.S. Army email, sent after the Fourth of July to its military and civilian members, included a graphic which claimed saying the phrase \u201cMake America Great Again\u201d is evidence of \u201cwhite supremacy.\u201d<\/p>\n The graphic listed other behaviors it deemed evidence of white supremacy, including, \u201cCelebration of Columbus Day,\u201d the \u201cDenial of White Privilege,\u201d \u201cTalking about \u2018American Exceptionalism,’\u201d and saying \u201cThere\u2019s Only One Human Race.\u201d<\/p>\n The email invited \u201call soldiers and (Department of the Army) Civilian Personnel\u201d to attend the U.S. Army\u2019s \u201cOperation Inclusion\u201d seminars on July 8 and 9 at the Redstone Arsenal Army Base in Alabama. The email was sent by Chaney P. Pickard from the U.S. Army Aviation & Missile Center using an official government email.<\/p>\n The message named the \u201cU.S. Army Equity & Inclusion Agency\u201d and \u201cAssistant Secretary of the Army \u2014 Manpower and Reserve Affairs\u201d as authors.<\/p>\n Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL) \u2014 who caught wind of the email \u2014 blasted the \u201cdeeply offensive and racist U.S. Army \u2018Operation Inclusion’\u201d content and demanded the firing and prosecution of Army personnel who used government resources to distribute political propaganda.<\/p>\n Brooks said the email is in \u201cclear violation\u201d of the Hatch Act, which bans government personnel from engaging in political activity while at work.<\/p>\n The seminars are part of a listening tour for the Army\u2019s \u201cOperation Inclusion,\u201d led by the U.S. Army\u2019s Inclusion Advisory Team.<\/p>\n \u201cDisturbingly, the Army chose Redstone Arsenal as the first location on a tour that will cover all Army 4 star commands,\u201d Brooks added.<\/p>\n Brooks has sent a letter to U.S. Army Secretary Ryan McCarthy, demanding an investigation.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Good luck with that, Mo.
