DA: Man stabbed, injured in Hornerstown was self-defense<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nA man who was stabbed and seriously wounded on Thursday night in Johnstown\u2019s Hornerstown section has been charged with assault and related offenses, Cambria County District Attorney Gregory Neugebauer said on Friday evening.<\/p>\n

The incident happened at around 8:15 p.m. Thursday in the 100 block of Cedar Street, according to Cambria County 911 dispatchers.<\/p>\n

Neugebauer said that the man who was stabbed, Matthew Gardopee, of Cedar Street, was the \u201cinitial aggressor\u201d in the incident. The person who stabbed Gardopee did so to protect himself and other people, the district attorney added.<\/p>\n

Gardopee was still in intensive care on Friday evening at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown, but was expected to survive, Neugebauer said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Confrontation over noise ends with self-defense killing in Eureka<\/strong><\/p>\n

The fatal shooting Friday of an intruder in a Eureka home is believed to have been self-defense, police in the North Coast city said.<\/p>\n

Friday\u2019s confrontation arose from a disturbance in a residential neighborhood around 2:30 a.m., said a press release from the police. A resident went to his porch and told the people who were making noise to leave the area.<\/p>\n

They \u201cconfronted the resident and became hostile toward him and entered onto his property,\u201d the report said. The man sprayed them with pepper spray as he retreated into his house.<\/p>\n

At least one of group entered the house. The resident shot him several times with a handgun. Gunfire also struck a person who was on the porch.<\/p>\n

The person shot inside the house was declared dead at the scene. The other person, shot in the leg, was taken to a hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.<\/p>\n

Investigators made a preliminary determination that the shooting was in self-defense, and no one was arrested.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Man shoots relative in self-defense; man shot faces burglary charges<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nPolice say a Dothan man shot twice Monday by a family member is now in jail on burglary charges.<\/p>\n

Justin Tyler Bland, 31, of Dothan, was arrested Monday, and charged with first-degree burglary.<\/p>\n

According to Dothan Police Lt. Scott Owens, Bland and a relative were involved in a verbal altercation that turned physical. During the physical altercation, Bland unlawfully entered the family member\u2019s residence where he had previously been band from entering.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
