American history is littered with evidence that the Democratic Party had a racist past. But, the left would say, the parties switched. Two examples that they provide include the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the “Southern Strategy”.<\/p>\n

With the Civil Rights Act, the Democrats dominated both houses of Congress and had the White House. However, what the left may not tell you speaks volumes. Support for the act, among the Republicans, was over 80%. It was under 70% among the Democrats. It was the Democrats that tried to filibuster the passage of this act\u2026 Setting the record for filibusters by the time it was defeated.<\/p>\n
