One of our regular commenters seems to be perturbed that an article hasn\u2019t yet appeared<\/i><\/a> here at TAH concerning the following.\u00a0 So here ya go, Commissar Wumao<\/i><\/a>.<\/p>\n

For the benefit of all, here’s the \u201cExecutive Summary\u201d version:<\/p>\n

1. An asshole joins the military \u2013 specifically the USAF.
\n2. Said asshole goes into Security Forces career field. He later becomes a member of one of the AMC “Raven” security teams.
\n3. Said asshole appears to have become involved with a racist group.
\n4. Said asshole allegedly conspires with others to murder a federal LE agent; that murder is carried out.
\n5. When later confronted by local LE, said asshole allegedly then murders one local LE agent and injures two others.
\n6. Said asshole is subdued by a local resident after he flees the scene of his second murder. The asshole is shortly afterwards taken into custody by local LE.
\n7. Said asshole has been charged with murder by both state and Federal authorities. He potentially faces the death penalty in both cases.
\n8. Said asshole does not appear to have been identified by LE as a potential problem prior to the murders.<\/p>\n

In summary: an asshole, who may well be a racist bastard, managed to join the military. He later allegedly was involved in the commission of two murders. He was captured after the second murder and will get his day in court.<\/p>\n

The asshole does not appear to have been a \u201cproblem child\u201d prior to his involvement in the recent murders. So other than perhaps the fact that the asshole was not identified as a problem and denied reenlistment at some point before his crimes, the system appears to have worked as designed.<\/p>\n

Yeah, this story bothers me \u2013 both due to the asshole\u2019s crimes and the fact that he may have \u201cslipped through the cracks\u201d, background investigation-wise, during his time in the USAF (you\u2019d think that members of the Phoenix Raven program would get a bit of extra scrutiny). But other than his not getting identified as a problem earlier, I can’t see much that could have been done differently. He doesn’t seem to have given much if any advance notice that he was about to go “off the rails”.<\/p>\n

Regardless, this asshole IMO will likely get the needle if the Federal government is the one to convict him of murder.\u00a0 After all:\u00a0 McVeigh did.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m not going to give this asshole or his apparent racist buddies additional publicity by mentioning his\/their names here. If you want to see more \u2013 or to see references for the above \u2013 do an Internet search with \u201cSanta Cruz shooter USAF boogaloo\u201d as the search terms. You\u2019ll get plenty of results.<\/p>\n

PS<\/u>: ya also probably shouldn’t consider this asshole\u2019s apparent racism as being representative of the “Political Right” in general, <\/i>Koalemos<\/a>. Per firsthand accounts of some individuals from Soviet allies who were sent to the Soviet Union to receive military training, the Soviets were quite racist towards many of the international students they trained.<\/i><\/p>\n
