Florida man shoots, kills home intruder who was attacking his wife, police say<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nA Florida man in his 70s fatally shot a home intruder who busted through the glass front door and began attacking his wife on Tuesday, investigators said.<\/p>\n

Deputies arrived at the Panama City home around 6:05 a.m. and found 31-year-old Nathan Jerrell Edwards laying on the floor dead and a handgun on the counter, the Bay County Sheriff\u2019s Office said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe husband stated he felt he could not physically stop the intruder, so he went upstairs to get his firearm,\u201d the sheriff\u2019s office said. \u201cHe shot the firearm multiple times, ending the threat.\u201d<\/p>\n

The husband, whom deputies did not name, said he was standing outside when Edwards walked up to his driveway and approached him in a threatening manner. Witnesses told deputies that Edwards was \u201cacting erratically,\u201d screaming and swearing.<\/p>\n

He went into his home through the garage to get away from Edwards, according to deputies, but Edwards followed and pounded on the door to the house. He shattered the large glass panel in the front door and entered the house.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Prosecutor Says Shooting At Royalton Home Was Self-Defense<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nA Vermont prosecutor says a non-fatal shooting at a Royalton, Vermont home was in self-defense and no charges will be filed against the man who fired the shot.<\/p>\n

The decision by the Windsor County State\u2019s Attorney\u2019s office was announced Tuesday by the Vermont State Police.<\/p>\n

An investigation found that the April 15 shooting occurred when Nicholas Schultz, who had been living at the home where the shooting took place, left with a firearm and returned shortly afterward while still carrying the weapon. Schultz failed to comply with commands from the homeowner, Jason Farina, to put down his weapon. Farina fired his own gun, wounding Schultz.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Grocery store worker arrested after man with knife shot in Brooklyn, NYPD says<\/strong><\/p>\n

EAST NEW YORK, Brooklyn (WABC) — A grocery store worker in Brooklyn is in custody after police say he shot and killed a man armed with a knife.<\/p>\n

It happened just after 11 p.m. Monday at Rose Family Grocery Store in East New York.<\/p>\n

Police say 25-year-old Edwin Candelario attempted to attack the worker with a knife during an argument.<\/p>\n

That’s when the 34-year-old worker pulled out a gun and police say he shot Candelario several times, killing him.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
