KESQ News Channel 3 reports<\/a> that a man tried to enter the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center at Twentynine Palms, California using a fake ID card.<\/p>\n

Man accused of trying to use fake ID card to enter 29 Palms Marine Base<\/strong><\/a>

A 40-year-old Vista man was arrested on Friday after authorities say he tried to enter the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center (MCAGCC) in Twentynine Palms using a fake ID card.<\/p>\n

Deputies from the Morongo Basin Sheriff’s Station were called to the 3400 block of Adobe Road to assist Provost Marshal Officers with the suspect on Friday at approximately 8:51 a.m.<\/p>\n

The suspect, identified as Miguel Angel Felix, was arrested for being in possession of forged identification card with intent to defraud.<\/p>\n

The department did not release any information on why Felix was attempting to gain access to the marine base. He was booked at the Morongo Basin Jail Friday morning, however, his bail was set to $0 in compliance with the statewide Emergency Bail Schedule and he was released from custody that same day.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0statewide Emergency Bail Schedule sets the bail at $0 for most misdemeanor and lower-level felony offenses<\/p>\n

A systematic search of the DoD Manpower Data Center database shows no active duty service for Miguel A. Felix but he could have been in the reserves.<\/p>\n

I don’t think this was Miguel’s first rodeo since he seems to have had past trouble with the law.<\/p>\n

It does not say what the beef was that he was arrested for in 2016, but he had a judgment against him in that same year – Nov 2016 – the creditor listed as San Diego County Department of Child Support Services.\u00a0 Not sure if the arrest in Feb 2016 was related to this or not.<\/p>\n

Jumping ahead to Friday’s activity, they seemed to have released him from jail already.<\/p>\n

Who knows, maybe he was just trying to get into “The Warrior Club” – Enlisted Club \/ hard building – and just have a drink?\u00a0 Or maybe he was trying to get into The Warrior Club – virtual association with being a Marine?<\/p>\n

With all the recent terrorist-related activities on military installations, it would not seem to be a wise move, considering his weapon of choice is a zip gun.<\/p>\n

Isn’t there a Murphy’s Law of Combat having to do with engaging with the enemy that has a larger caliber weapon that yourself?\u00a0 If there isn’t a Law, there should be.<\/p>\n

In any case, I don’t know if this is Stolen Valor even though he may have been passing himself off as active duty.\u00a0 He could have been passing himself off as a dependent or government worker since it doesn’t say.\u00a0 Also, the goal may not have been stolen valor, it seems more centered around access to the base.<\/p>\n
